Our promises

Your words stay yours.

TimeLink holds things that can’t be replaced — a voice, a face, a letter written for one person. So here is plainly what we will never do with them. This is the short version, and it is the one we mean to be held to.

  1. One

We will never sell your information.

Not your name, not your email, not your family’s details, and not a single word of what you’ve written. There is no price for it. We are not building the kind of business that has one.

  2. Two

We will never rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers.

No data brokers. No advertising networks. No partners you’ve never heard of, quietly receiving a list.

  3. Three

Nobody can buy their way into your messages.

No ads. No sponsored placements. No brand paying to sit on the screen while you’re writing to someone. If something is in front of you, it’s because it helps you do the thing you came here to do.

  4. Four

You can take everything with you, whenever you want.

Every letter, photograph, video and recording, exported in ordinary formats that open without us. You don’t have to ask, and you don’t have to explain why — it’s in Settings, under Download everything.

What we do collect, plainly

Enough to run the thing and nothing more: your account details, what you write and upload, the names and contact details of the people you’re writing to, a record of your check-ins, and ordinary technical information like which browser you used and when something went wrong.

If a photo you upload records when and where it was taken, that’s stored with the photo. We use the date to show when it was taken; the place isn’t used for anything.

The one thing we can’t promise away

If the law genuinely requires it — a court order, or a real and immediate risk to someone’s safety — we will comply. We’d rather tell you that here than let you find it in clause forty of something longer.

This page has a date on it. Last updated 3 October 2026. This is its first version — if we ever change a word, the earlier version stays published, so you can see exactly what changed and when.
